Serial ATA Hard Drives

I'm curious to find out how's the performance of one of these HDs. Do you gain a substancial increase in track count (@24bit, 96k) using SATA? My current system houses 2 standard ATA133 drives & 1 Ultra SCSI HD on a Gigabyte P4 GA-845G MB. If there's a big difference in track count, then I'll find myself going through the annual upgrade thing once again. I do have one question.

3 Hard Drives?

I have 2 Seagate 7200 Hard Drives installed(you already know Opus!)
One is a 13 gig with my OS and Apps
The second one is a 20 gig for samples, sound files etc.

Rather than replacing one with a larger HD, I thought of just adding one more. Therefore, I could have one for the OS. Second for sound samples and Ghost image and the 3rd would be for sound/video files.

001/Mac G4 -- Hard Drive Recommendations?

Hey! Its time to expand beyond the factory ATA hard drive that came with my G4. I'm not experienced with purchasing cpu hardware, so some recommendations and clarification would be greatly appreciated.

If I buy a SCSI drive, do I need to get additional connecting hardware or is my G4 ready to have it plunked down and plugged in?

Are IDE hard drives up to speed nowadays?

I plan on doing some video in the near future along with audio. So I was wondering, are the current HD's up to speed? The last time I used this one video program, I would get a lot of "jitter" whenever I'd play a movie or something. I was under the impression  that the RPM speed of the drive determined this. Is my theory correct or is it wishful thinking?

about hard drive positions?

hi...i use 2 hard drives one wd40jb for op and one wd80jb for data...the first one is it partitioned in 2 partitions... first partition for op and the second for sampl.Wavesetc. i have a question:do i really need to put the first hard on IDE1 master and second on IDE2 master?...because they are right now first IDE1 master and second one on IDE1 slave.

Is adding another hard drive pretty easy?

I've got a Maxtor 80GB 7200rpm 8MB cache that's seemingly acting up. Before I ditch it altogether, I do have another Maxtor 80GB 7200rpm 2MB cache that I could add to my PC as a data or OS drive.

I'm thinking of adding it and running the two so I don't have a massive reconfigure if the 8megger pukes on me.
