Types of Headphones

Okay so I want some really nice professional headphones. I have done some research but I have no idea what some of the terms mean. Like what is the difference between mixing, tracking, and monitoring headphones? Also should I get studio headphones or audiophile headphones? I intend to use them for the soul purpose of listening to music and watching movies.

Mackie monitors or Sennheiser headphones?

I'm trying to do the best I can to monitor and mix my own stuff with a really low budget. I can't afford more than $200 right now, and I'm working in an untreated room. Through craigslist, I have the choice of a pair of Mackie MR5s or a pair of Sennheiser 598 headphones. They're the same price. Any recommendations?

Can this Audio Interface work with these Headphones

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface
Analog Output Impedence is 10 ohms

New to all of this, so I am wondering if I could use these headphones without the need of a seperate headphone amp.

These headphones are the ones I have researched and am trying to decide which one to get for best flat, neutral sound in my price range.

90% buzzing 10% Audio-- laptop to headphone amp -- Need help--

HI,

The Setup:
I am using a laptop for my DAW/Sound output to my Headphone distribution amp. The laptop output is a headphone output not a line-out output. My Headphone amp has a 1/4 stereo direct input and the laptop has a 1/8 output. I use a 1/8 to 1/8 cable with a 1/8 to 1/4 stereo to stereo adapter.

Good recording headphones?

Pretty self explanatory, i want to buy some over the ear headphones for recording. Someone i know recommended Sennheiser but i just want to explore all my options. I dont mind going up to 100$ or so, but what are the biggest differences between something like 50 and 100? I dont want something that enhances the sound too much cause i want to really hear what I'm mixing.

Forums

Hello there, I just recent bought some new equipment hoping to start recording vocals at home!
I went to my local music store, the clerk there helped me out with selecting some equipment based on my budget and requirements.

I run a desptop with Windows Seven installed ( i also have a laptop with vista installed).
