There is a question I have been wanting to ask for the last few days, since i've been thinking about all the things I will have to buy to rebuild my studio.

We finally recieved the computer for the new studio, and smiled as we thought, "A couple more connections and we will be up and running." Suffice it to say, things just got way more complicated.

Well.. my Tascam fw 1804 has just arrived. this is my first interface. are theyre any other 1804 users out there?

care to leave me some feedback on how this puppy runs? what do you guys use it for.. any defects?

I have a laptop using Cubase SX and if I want to get a bass guitar, what device or interface I need to incorpate that into my laptop? Thanks in advance.

My friend wants to start using his PC for recording his acoustic guitar and vocals.
I told him to get an interface and then he should be able to download some free recording software that he can use with it.
He only needs about 2 tracks...no more than 8.
What products should I recommend to him?

Ive been looking through the posts to find some opinions on this and found a bit, but would like some more.
i'm new to this, and I'm actually doing research for my brother in law.( but I've got interest too, just not the bucks to back it up at the moment )

I currently have a Tascam US-122 and am looking to upgrade. I would like S/PDIF ins and outs and don't want to spend more than $250-300. Also, it needs 24-bit capabilities. Some of the M-Audio FW stuff is appealing, but I have heard there are problems with the drivers for OS X and are just problematic. Any ideas?

I have M-audio audiophile 2496 as you all might know..I was wondering what setting I should use for the incoming singnal

I'm having to many problems with clipping

Hi. I posted a topic about a recording interface & laptop and it got removed and relocated. Sorry if it seemed in the wrong place, I felt that since the setup required an interface it might warrant being at recording gear...so to rectify, I've divided the post up.

I have a friend that needs a Laptop for audio. I know much about PC's (boxes) but little about the laptop world.

We are looking for something around $600-800 US. Something not latest and best, but not old and crap either :)
