Question about firewire interfaces

Hi. I currently work with an M-audio 1010LT. Not high-endI know. I would definitely like to have at least 16 channels of I/O into my DAW and have looked at many ways to achieve this. MOTU seems to be the first thing that comes to mind in the PCI arena. There are also a lot of firewire interfaces with up to 8 channels like the PreSonus stuff and Alesis.

PCI/Firewire Interfaces @ 96k w/ DIGIMAX FS?

I have a PreSonus DIGIMAX that I would like to run all 8-ADAT inputs into an interface that will accept them at 96k (if at all possible). I also want the interface to have a few of it's own inputs and even a second ADAT input. I have a Sony Vaio PC with Windows XP Media Center and I use Cubase SX3, so it will have to be compatable with all of those.

audio interfaces that work well... motu? RME? etc.

i've been using an akai dps24 for a couple years and everything is selfcontained.

I don't know what what system to go with, i want something with easy monitor sending and sounds good. i'd like to have 8 mic preamps built in with 8 or so more balanced inputs for more preamps. i've been lookin at MOTU and they seem to have (on paper) great monitor sends/mixing capability and

INTERFACES!

I'm really tired of looking for an interface that will give me each channel on a seperate track on the computer. Everytime i find one, i find another one and then i cant decide. So i would like some advice. I need a large (at least 8 channel) audio interface. I want it to send each channel into a sperate track on the computer software.
