Seeking your advice on Micing a mandolin (live)
Hi, this question is for a live performance. I play a mandolin and am interested in a high-endmountable condensor such as a DPA 4099. Planning to use a wireless body pack, which I'd plug into a stage mixer. Here's my question - I'd like a foot switch to attenuate the signal depending when I'm not taking a lead. I guess I can buy stuff and patch it together, is that what I should do?
The difference between singing live and recording?
Hope someone can help me as Im about to go off my head. Im in a band just now and have been touring the country for a few months now and we decided to record an l.p woo hoo i thought but when it came to getting my vocals all was not well. I didnt sound half as good as when i sing/play live.
Mics for Live work
We just had a couple of mics in stock when we started. so I've been picking up deals on various mics to try out different stuff. I thought I'd post results so far. I am Micing clean and scream vocals, backing vocals, at high volumes. I also am singing Coldplay, 3DG, Oasis, etc. Rush (ha ha) and originals, clean vocals.

StudioLive Wireless Remote
StudioLive just gets better. When you are in a tight spot, you can put the mixer where you want and control the FOH via wireless from an iPad.
Enjoy this video on how to setup the StudioLive with an ipad:

Audience applause volume level-live recordings
When listening to "live" CD recordings, why is the audience applause volume level (after each song track) so much louder than the actual music?
Record Korg MS2000B into Ableton live 8
Hello
I am trying to record my Korg Ms2000b into Ableton live 8.
What kind of gear do I need to make this happen? I have a m-audio 1X1 midi interface running two midi cables into the Korg, but I can't get any sound from my speakers nevermind the ability to record it. I have the track armed and preferences adjusted to recognized the interface.

Live Sound Reinforcement Questions
I'm diving into live sound as well and have a technical question. Is there an appropriate place on this forum to pose my question or should I be going to a different forum for "live sound reinforcement" queries?
Thanks.
