I feel Dumb for asking, but i think i just need to be reminded so it'll all come back to me.

Anyone care to offer first-hand advice about buying better-than-average vocal mics for live performance? I am a part-time audio engineer for a small church. We could use some new mics. I currently use the SM58 and the Electro-Voice N/D767a. I have heard the beta 87a and talked to engineers who like it a lot. I have also used the AKG c1000 for some quick vocal recording.

Anyone out there who does or has done live audio streaming on the web? If so, what hardware/software do you or did you use? What other equipment do you recommend?

So I JUST did a demo for a band. Just a quick two song thing, couple hours out the door, bye. Two nights ago I led the singer into the iso booth to do his vox. He could not grasp the concept of staying within 5 feet of the mic. He literally would whisper at two feet and shout at two inches, and insisted he was not conscious of his actions.

Give us your thoughts and insite on the Live Froum about recording with a live sound engineer on live shows and how you get the job done. Thx for all of your input guys!

Recently me and a fellow group of (relatively) inexperienced musicians threw a concert... (It was a sort of farewell for three of the band members who were going overseas to study) and we got it recorded.

I need to record a recital for a rock n' roll ensemble in a bar situation for a music school. I'm doing this for free to get my name out there. I was planning on using a XY stereo setup centered between the mains and in the middle of the room. Is this a good approach? Suggestions Please!

OK, I tried asking this question in the "MIDI" forum, but haven't gotten a clear answer in over a week so I thought I'd try here.

Is it possible to start/stop a sequencer with my Boss GT-3 guitar fx foot pedal? I'd like to be able to do this for live applications. I know I can start and stop a sequencer with midi, but can a guitar fx pedal control this?
