PreSonus Firepod - Slowing my iMac G5 ?
One time i asked on this board why my Logic Express were having some trouble with only 5-6 tracks... the answer was that if I was only using the buit-in soundcard of previous iMac G4 computer, it was the cause because a so small soundcard would not be powerful enough to do pro audio - the i got my Firepod soundcard with pro.

Firewire 410 for the Mac Mini?
Hi,
I'm trying to put together a small project studio to record acoustic guitar, piano, vocals and assorted percussion instruments (not full drum kits). I recently bought a Mac Mini with a 1.42 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM, and I'm trying to decide on an audio interface.

Mac laptops for music
some questions I have:
1.)I'm thinking of getting a mac to use for recording, softsynth performance, graphic stuff, running applications like Pro Tools LE, Reason, etc . I already have the Mbox. Any models/configurations/setups that are known to work well? Can I use an ibook?
Or is now a bad time to get a mac lap top because of the intel chip switchover?

Mac Mini works fine as Logic Node !
i was told by the webpage the manual and some clever guys that this could NOT work. .
but it does. .
just tried it yesterday... a powerbook 1.5 GHz as host. and two Mac Mini's as nodes.
more than 3 TIMES THE POWER! (of my powerbook)
it only works on logic's own plug's. but they have a fine collection going on...

Problems with Power MAc G5
Im having a -9073 error in PT LE 6.9.2. It says it's about the Hard Drive, it might be too fragmented or too slow. Tha thing is that this problem only happens with ONE particular session, I'm being able to run other sessions with more tracks and plugins without a problem so it's really pissing me off because Im not being able to mix this particular session.

Will an iMac G5 work for me?
I am a high school senior, and in one year's time I will be going off to college majoring in sound recording technology. The school doesn't have any requirements for the type of computer students use, and I am exploring my options. I have not yet decided if I want a PC or a Mac, but I am not looking for help deciding between the two.

New to Mac recording
So I'm looking to meet up with (online or in person) people to discuss some of the more technical sides of recording. Anyone in portland oregon, or feel like having a new E friend? I'm currently a MOTU user. I've used Pro Tools and digital performer, and prefer DP. I'm having a hard time finding a good selection of FX in the MAS format. Any suggestions?
