I have a tape of me doing abt 10 songs at a folk festival. Several originals to. I was thinking of sending it to a mastering studio to transfer to digital and master it.

Anyone have a preference for that type work?

Was stinking abt MassiveMastering.

Hello everyone. Here is the deal. I am in the military and they pay for my schooling, if the school is Accredited. I have found an accredited shool for Mixing and Mastering. Im looking to become a Mixing/Mastering engineer.
This will not be the only schooling I will recieve, its a starting point.

Hey Im very new to mastering and I know it takes awhile to learn. But what are the basics to mastering? See I have been mixing for years and my mixes come good but now I want to move on to learn how to master. So what do I start with? EQing, Reverb are those the basics?

If you do not mind your secrets being known, tell us about your mastering process. What steps do you take, what software do you use ?

The December 06 Issue of MIX magazine has an excellent article & cover story on mastering, entitled: The Final Step: Why Mastering Matters.

It's not online yet (I'll post the link when it it's available) but you can pick it up at any of the usual places (B&N, GC, SA, etc.).
