A mastering site from Denmark
Hi guys,
I found a site about mastering here in Denmark:
http://www.mastertouch.dk
What do you think about it? have you any ideas of what that should and shouldn't be on a ME-site?
It would be great to get some inputs to use for my own site...
Best Regards,

When was the golden era of CD Mastering?
Hi,friends!
Based on the over compressed CDs being released nowadays, when was the golden era of CD Mastering?
I remember nice CDs like Tears For Fears "Sowing the Seeds of Love" and "Elemental" and Rush's "Power Windows" sounding pretty nice and not overly compressed.

pre mastering levels
What sort of levels (peak and avg) do you mastering guys wanna see on mixes you receive? Where do you try and end up? At the end of the day, what's the standard VU measurement and are all the peaks at 0dbfs now?
Thanks in advance

Learn more about Mastering?
I'm interested in the mastering process and have searched through this site. I'm looking for some basic info on how to get started and what should be happening while mastering. Very informative stuff so far but is there a good book out that would teach about this? Thanks.

Seeking opinions on best formats for mastering
Hi all. I know there are a lot of mastering engineers on this board and I'm wondering on what you all think on the best format for mastering. I've heard it said that recording in 24/96 and sending in an AIFF file is useless in the end because of downsampling and dithering. Then - I've also heard that the absolute best for some are AIFF files at 24/48. At any rate, I'd love some opinions!
MASTERING CLASSIC GUITAR.
Hi, I am new on this forum of mastering.
I am recording a classical guitar trhough my RODE nt1000 and Mackie mixer to Pc (I know it is not the best but...) and find that the same recording mastered at 94 % sounds much better than mastered at 100 %, could that be posible that it sounds like compressed?. Thank you for any information you could give me.

Where does mixing stop and mastering begin
DISCLAIMER:
OK, my project is low end, low budget. I am doing this for a buddy in exchange for his help on another project. This is the first thing I have recorded and engineered and mixed and I am doing it all in our new home studio. However, I want to do as good of a job as I can...

Ideas for Mastering Seminar. .
A good friend of mine - a DJ at a local radio station - does an annual Awards Show for the local independent music scene. The attendees will most likely be made up primarily of local band members and their mgmt types. This year he is putting together a seminar in addition to the awards show. He has asked me to do a "session" for the seminar on Mastering.
