Seeking opinions on best formats for mastering

Forums

Hi all. I know there are a lot of mastering engineers on this board and I'm wondering on what you all think on the best format for mastering. I've heard it said that recording in 24/96 and sending in an AIFF file is useless in the end because of downsampling and dithering. Then - I've also heard that the absolute best for some are AIFF files at 24/48. At any rate, I'd love some opinions!

MASTERING CLASSIC GUITAR.

Hi, I am new on this forum of mastering.

I am recording a classical guitar trhough my RODE nt1000 and Mackie mixer to Pc (I know it is not the best but...) and find that the same recording mastered at 94 % sounds much better than mastered at 100 %, could that be posible that it sounds like compressed?. Thank you for any information you could give me.

Ideas for Mastering Seminar. .

A good friend of mine - a DJ at a local radio station - does an annual Awards Show for the local independent music scene. The attendees will most likely be made up primarily of local band members and their mgmt types. This year he is putting together a seminar in addition to the awards show. He has asked me to do a "session" for the seminar on Mastering.
