Help for Midi Newb
I could really use some help with Midi. I've had an Alesis SR16 for years that I use to accompany me when I'm song writing. I tap out the rhythm on the pads, make a loop, send the audio to my mixer and jam to it. I've never tapped into it's midi capabilities as I have no idea where to start.

One or several of the MIDI inputs could not be opened. They might be in use by another application. Open the Preferences dialog and check your MIDI settings.
as a result, i can't use my controller's faders etc to control parameters in reason. what should i do?

2 sustain pedal options for midi keyboard?
My Midi Controller allows me to add 2 Sustain pedals. Of Course one I use for Sustain, but I don't know what is best to use the other for. I tried the Sostenuto and Soft Pedal function(Midi cc 66/67) But they don't seem to do much. Is there a better midi function for this extra sustain pedal? Please know my keyboard knowledge is small and I use it mainly for softsynths. :D

Activating MIDI
Hi,
I'm using a Delta1010lt soundcard and nuendo 1.52. Ive had difficulty getting midi to work using my drum module to go into the PC. Im wondering whether there is someone out there using the same hardware/software as me that would care to highlight what needs to be done inorder to get the midi working in terms of altering settings within Nuendo and the Delta control panel.

Midi accessories and DIY
Hi
I don't post outside Tech Talk often BUT I thought it time to venture out once more and especially since the reshuffle and forum renaming.
Many of you may know of this site.

best Basic MIDI interface
Hi folks,
I've heard about jitter and latency issues with USB MIDI interfaces. Are PCI any better?
Even so, I am looking at the Edirol UM-1SX or the M-Audio MIDISport 2x2, both of which are USB devices.
Does anyone make a dedicated Firewire MIDI device? Or can anyone recommend either of these devices?
Thanks,
cranbo
