Extracting MIDI from audio

I don't know whether this topic has been discussed before. If, please hint me where to go.

I'd like to have an audio track (just with a single voice) transformed to midi in order to later control an autotune plugin (after some correction) of that very same track.

Do you know if Cubase / Logic / PT / Wavelab supports this? Any other software dedicated to this matter?

Midi Recording MPC 3000 vs Mac running Logic 7.0

I know this is a way of comparing Apples with Peaches but although.
I used to have an mpc 3000 LE and worked aswell on a Mac Running various versions of Logic.
Regarding the midi thing I have the idea that the MPC swings more from itself.
Am I crazy is this between my ears or is it really so.

midi mixdown techniques?

a question for the professionals, if i may...

okay, so you've finished your arrangement, a combination of midi and audio parts and you're about to start the actual mixing process. first you have to mixdown your midi to an audio track. i'm talking here about computer-based recording but i suppose the question would be the same for tape-based recording too.

Any other beat makers can tell me a good beat/ midi setup?

Do VST Instruments require actual MIDI Hardware?

Hello Everyone!
I am total newbee in digital mixing and will appreciate your patience with me. I was reading Nuendo2.0 and CubaseSX 1 manuals and they are not mentioning that actual hardware should be connected to VST host to utilize those VST's. Is there any chance to route the loop sample in to VST instrument for further manipulations within computer keyboard?
