I'm curious to know what kind of headphones you guys use to mix, or thoughts on some great headphones to mix with.

I am reading about surround sound.

I understand that reverb/delay and the db level of a sound generator object give the spatial characteristic of depth in the process of mixing.

Sure we all use CD's we like for mix comparision, but are there profesional wave files to be used for this task and where can i buy them?

I found the following page where you can freely download raw multitrack projects for the purpose of practicing your mixing technique. I thought some of you could get some use out of them.

First post here, and what and entrance.
But really need some advise here.

Apolgies if in wrong place, but forum is so vast.

I have a question. We are mixing down using some Sony headphones, sounds cool. But go to ear buds, different sound, go to speakers with horns hmmmm harsh, etc etc.

You know, one of the chains in my workflow just bit the dust, so I crawled out of my cave to do a little shopping - and I am amazed that all of the marketing tends to want to point us towards a "hybrid" system - with "real" tactile touch of faders, and the ability to mix OTB because it has that "analog sound and feel".
