Hi,

When you are mixing your tracks and adding reverb, do you use the same type reverb for all the instruments and voice ?
Or can you use like plate reverb for say one instrument and spring for say vocals.

Just had my first orchestra recording today. Came up with decent mic techniques using this forum and my good 'ol SOS subscription.

I have a home studio Pro Tools setup (setup's in my info). I'm fairly new to the world of Recording and Mixing/Mastering. Here are the mics I have available:
2 - MXL 604 Condensers
2 - Sennheiser MD421 Dynamics
2 - SM57 Dynamics
1 - AKG D-112

I'm mixing a couple of projects with Analog Channel 2 across the SubMaster bus. It sounds really good and the clients are liking the mix sounds, due in part to the AC2 plug. However, the AC2 seems to be acting a lot like a limiter and reducing dynamics.

Hi all, I am new to this fantastic forum. What happens if you mix music outside in the open (no walls & no ceiling)? Would you get a good mix?

hey I'm new to the recording production business kinda started with me wanting to make a quality demo of me playing without worrying about finding an actual studio. i was wondering if anybody could give me some tips on starting from scratch i.e. what programs to look for types of mics, computer adapters, etc.
