Programs solely for mixing
I was wondering if there are any programs which excel at mixing more than recording? Having installed the CD burner into my 16 track i've realised i could now use a more advanced computer based program to mix the wav files, so if such a program exists could someone recommend me one?

Need help choosing audio/midi recording/mixing software plea
ok- i heard one of the veteran posters on here say that you should always chose your software first and then the platform will find itself. i think this makes sense so i am trying to decide which software would best suite my needs.
New plugin bundle for mixing
Right now the only plugin bundle I have is Waves Gold and I've been thinking about upgrading to Platinum but I've also heard good things about the Sony pack and the URS plugins. I would appreciate any advice please. I have an 1176, a distressor, and I plan on getting an LA-2A in the future.

Mixing down drums w/ sample
If the drums have been recorded. And now it's time to mix them down. How do you use the kick mic as the trigger for the kick drum sample?
Or do you have to record with a trigger on the kick drum?

Mixing, Mastering
Those of you that do your recordings on your DAW, do you just mix on on it and then send it to someone to master? Or how do you produce a CD quality sound?
I have a few recordings, but they don't have a consistent volume level for playing back on different electronics. Also the levels are not high enough when doing playback in something like Winamp.
Any help?

good vocal mixing? i need a start.
ive been listening to some albums and I'm so jealous of how they get mixed. i hear these vocals that are just soooo clear and sound like they are in the room with you. to be specific, I'm stuck on chevelles newest CD. at any rate, not long ago i started mixing and ive been playing with different effects to bring the vocals out and make them clearer.

Mixing inquiry
hi all. questions regarding mixing. Is it better/more efficient to subgroup the drums/cymbals to an aux track and use a plugin comp/eq/reverb on the aux channel only or should I use individual plugs on each track?
my thoughts are that it might work on the drums but not necessarily on the cymbals.
Im about to cross this bridge and am lookin for feedback.

mixing stereo samples
Can someone give me an idea as to how to mix stereo sample. I want to sample some percussion with 3 mics for each instrument, 1 close and 2 overheads (or is that a bad idea). I will be recording about 5 different instrument. What is the best way to mix each sample.
