Mixing using bus questions?
OK, here's what i got for bass/guitar signals on this recording:
each guitar/bass track gets:
-a Direct line
-a 57 A the speaker of an amp
-a condensor a few feet from the amp.
(not concerning the drums or vocals, each song of this album is strictly 2 guitars and 1 bass)

Mastering & Mixing tools for Acoustic Music
As I am just about to shell out some serious cash, I wanted to make sure I have not forgotten any options. Basically, I am looking for a compressor, an Eq and a reverb unit that would be appropriate for most of my recordings (classical, jazz and world).

Mixing dilemma
I'm currently on a dilemma.
I'm tired of my digi001/Mackie 1604 vlz combo. Over the years I've been buying nice microphones and outboard gear, like C414's, PreSonus eureka, etc.. and I've also been upgrading my studio in terms of acoustic conditions. The main system is just not doing it for me anymore..

Hey guys,
Heres the deal, ive been working on this project for about 4 or 5 months. Ive heard the songs thousands of times.
What's normal amount of time to spend mixing a song?
Assuming that comping and most garbage cleanup is already done, is a full day a standard amount of time to spend mixing a song?
How long does a normal pro engineer spend mixing a song?
