Ok, I know this is going to raise some hairs, but I have just gotta ask.

Two questions here.

1) Jules has a boom box hardwired in for playback reference. I was thinking about doing the same... any guidlines or comments?

My woofer blew out on my other set of monitors and if i turn them up past 1/3 way, i get nothing but farting noises. After calling tech support and finding out it's going to be a while before i get them fixed, i decided that i'd go to the local music superstore and see if i can find a small pair of monitors that can get me through this time.

Can any one describe the way they A/B
a mix on different sets of non powered monitors. I am currently using a speaker switcher connected to a single power amp.This works but I'm wondering if there is a better way?

I've read a few posts with users saying they have monitors out on loan for trial.
How does this work?Do you have to have a pro studio to qualify.
Obviously being able to spend a bit of time with monitors before buying is going to be the best way to make a decision.

I really need a decent pair of active monitors just to get a good mix, but what should I get that's INEXPENSIVE? I've looked into the Event PS6's.. but they're rather costly. Do you guys have any recomendations?

Anyone got an opinion on these monitors? Local GuitarCenter just got a trade in set and can get em for $500 (pair). Have digital, analog, and optical inputs.
So...anyone got some input?

Hey y'all. Just popped over from the computer side of things. Got that in order, now onto the REAL stuff. First order: My buddie and I are in the stage of having fun now, using computers, and live recording only vocals and guitars. Rest DI or digital. Hip Hop / Rock interbreed stuff.
