Bye Bye NS-10's
I'm sure some of you guys have heard that Yamaha announced the end of NS-10 production, citing a difficulty in getting the proper wood pulp for the woofer, yeah whatever.
Any NS-10 dudes out there nervous? Stashing those woofers and tweeters away like a buddy I know with cases of "Old" Coca Cola? Lookin for something else to replace em?

I realize that many of us with small tracking facillities can't get necessarily get something like the Dunleaveys (sp?), for mastering but I would like to know what you mastering experts consider the criteria for your monitors and what your choices might be.

Choosing Studio Monitor Help
Hello, fellow bottom feeders! It's time for the obligatory question about monitor selection. I have about $700 allocated for a pair of powered nearfields. What are your thoughts on the following:
1. Event 20/20bas (I can get them for $750)
2. Event PS6 (Heard good things and easy on the wallet)
3. Tannoy Reveal Actives
4. KRK V6
5. Any suggestions welcome ;)

Powered monitors and 001
Hi,
I will be getting a pair of powered monitors for my 001 set up. Is it best to use the main outs of the 001 or the direct outs of channels 1 & 2 of my Mackie board which is where the 001 mains are currently routed into? Any difference?
Thanks,
Dan-

Studio Monitors ... Imperative?
How important is having a pair of nearfield monitors with my home setup? I'm thinking of the entry level powered Yamaha (MSP5?) But is this an important part of the production element, or can it be substituted by some good headphones, and a spectrum analyser?
Thank you in Advance

Monitors w/McIntosh
I've just acquired a '65 vintage MC240 amp. As I understand, this is really a consumer piece, but I'm considering pressing it into service in the studio. I don't know enough about this type of amp to know whether I should expect to use it for mixing/critical monitoring of just listening/enjoying.
