know this is a little off topic, but everyone is great at sharing ideas and info here so i thought id try anyways. does anyone here know of anyone who has ever attended any courses over at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood? please email me if you do, or have any info or opinions on the course/school. thanks!

anybody know of any good groups the join for musicians looking to either relocate or find a band? I play bass and like heavy and melody (modern sh*t). Or even where is the best bet to move to find bands?

PRODUCER AGREEMENT

How can a soundtrack artist get noticed like James Horner, Hans Zimmer, etc? I've been trying my hardest, but I just get small commercial jingle work, and PSA work, and maybe a couple of my friends movie soundtracks, but that's it. I have a ton of songs that cater to the soundtrack listeners, but that genre is hard to get noticed because I can't perform.

As the subject says, I'm interested in what some averages/expectations are to pay musicians in the studio; or be paid myself which would be a LOW rate, I assure you (if you've heard me play...)

I'm in college and I plan on recording some songs soon and I will be using some people on campus to play a string part on some songs. If I use these people should I pay them a one-time fee? Do they get a cut of sales? What if they did it for free, but I magically made it big and sold a lot of recordings, could they demand a cut of the pay?

I ponied up the cash for this book from the Recommended Books list on this board.

Hi friends. For those who don't know me, I am a recording engineer/musician from Brazil, 33 years old. I would like to know what happened to the following groups/musicians listed below. They did lots of success in Brazil with one or 2 songs and I have never heard of them again.
