Calrec 1061s. like neves?

hey mcSnare et al,

had a chance to use some brent averill-racked calrec 1061 pre/eqs and LOVED them! now, according to legend the calrec company was hired by the bbc to make copies of the Neve gear of the time. my question.

. what Neve model are the 1061s based on? and would you say they sounded identical, or at least close, to the equivalent Neve model?

has anyone worked with the Neve 88r?

yo recording heads... in the near future i'm going to have to learn and work with the Neve 88r, although i'm quite comfortable with the vr/flying faders set-up's, is there anything weird or unique about the new desks that i should look out for(aside from the obvious benifits/complications of motorised small faders)?

Neve Modules - HI / LO Switch?

I've been using various 10XX series modules for a while now and was wondering in anyone knows the correct setting of the switch on the back of the module. I've always just went with whatever it was already set to, until I starting hearing about a "correct" setting for a particular mic. I recently spoke to someone knowledgable, and they said if you are using newer microphones, set it to HI.
