Setting Up Audio PC With Many Plugins

Having recently viewed the ever extending size of the plugins I possess; I decided it was time to upgrade my system and the way in which it is utlised. I have noticed now that with some single plugins taking up over +40GB in space I would definitely be in need of a larger drive (2TB) to store this capacity.

I worked with Hans only briefly and a long time ago, but we share a common opinion about UAD plugs.
They really get very close to the real things... Even if they need a card to play on, somehow it is just more
sound in them then digital algorythms..

looking to upgrade in the plug department on my mac.

i run mainly logic 9 with stock plugs with a few 3rd party (colour tone phase tool) and i have a few spare coins in the bank and want to buy some decent EQ and compression plugs.

Question, in what folder do you place a 3rd party plugin in order for Pro Tools to recognize it. It is a component plugin . I have it in Library/Audio/Plugins /Components
Logic recognizes it but Pro Tools dose not. Thank you

Does UAD make software plugins that don't require a PCI card? or are they all ran off the pci card?

How does it work? Upgrades?

If they do make software plugins, do they sound any different then the PCI ones?
