removing vocals from songs (expert boy VTS plugin )
Hi guys new to the board and a bit confused but this seemed like a pretty good sub-forum to post this in. Do you guys know of any good way to remove vocals without getting very noticable effects on the instrumental track from an mp3? is it possible at all? using expert boy didn't work at all for me.
Which plugin compressor would you recommend for vocals?

2010 PRO AUDIO - are plugins getting close to pro hardware?
Seriously, no wanker opinions on this one.
Some personal insight and discussion on high-endDAW's and DAW plugins
Maybe a dumb question... PCM cards + plugins... possible?
Okay so I'm not really sure how to word this correctly... but I'm trying to find a solution to getting some of the load off my CPU when Im mixing. I've already begun using an external to save my tracks too, which helped mostly in keeping my internal hard drive free. But I'm having a hell of a time mixing a full project. Im using a Macbook Pro with 4 gigs of ram, core 2 duo.
Gender-Bender VST plugin
I'm working on a project where I sing all the background vocal harmonies, but I want it to sound like 3 or 4 different people, not all me. I've tried some tricks - singing in goofy voices and at different angles and distances from the mic, but it's just not happening. So here's my question:

Good sounding easy to use drum plugin ?
I am not a drummer, but I need a plugin that is easy to use and sounds good. I am not happy with the one that comes with Pro Tools. I don't have all day to look through samples and figure out what they do and sound like. Any suggestions?

compressor plugins vs. real compressor
I was recording last night with a new preamp that I built (Telefunken V-72) and I am getting pretty good sounding recordings now using Pro Tools. When I add a compressor using the various plugins that come with Pro Tools LE it seems to me that they are actually degrading the sound and reducing the gain.

Ordering Plug-in VST's
I have a dry guitar track and just for kicks I am going to run it into a software emulator. I also want to apply high/low pass filtering and a separate EQ plug for EQ editing/sweetening. What order would you use or do you think would be the most effective and why?
