Im in the studio with an acoustic demo and they say the Pro Tools plugs are better than Waves,
My first impression is that the Pro Tools plugs sounds abit colder than Waves R comp
Whats your opinion?

Okay, so I am still debating between a PC and a Mac for my new studio. I am very interested in going the "Bandwagon" Pro-tools LE route with the Digidesign 002 firewire interface. I will be doing a lot of acoustical recording (vocals guitars drums) and some midi work with my Triton and X3 keyboards.

I've got a promblem recording. I'm recording with a Mbox to my G4powerbook with my Shure ksm27. the mike recording is super! but the sound on the 2nd source plug that the guitar is going into on the Mbox no matter what i seem to do there is a buzzing noice. the goal is to be able to have clear sound without that buzzing so i don't have to take it out later.

So I have an 800 mhz G4 Mac where I used to have my Pro Tools digi002 and also Logic Platinum 6, haven't upgraded, yet.

I just bought a PC 3 ghz pentium 4 which is now the new home for my Pro Tools which of course was a lot more cheaper than upgrading to a mac G5 and i can mix very well on it.

Here's a discussion I would love to see. Say you have $4000 to buy the software and A/D/D/A interface for a new DAW you are building, you want it to be as professional as possible, perhaps even a level above project studio.

So obviously you can't afford Pro Tools HD, only LE. I would really like to know two things,

Question 1:

Which software do you choose and why?

How do the included effects plugins in these two apps compare?

I need the best quality for the money.

Pro Tools has the BombFactory stuff and a Moogerfooger analog delay.

Sonar has a Lexicon Pantheon Reverb and the Sonitus Effects Suite and some other stuff..

How do these compare?

there is a tool in digital performer where you can Ctrl click a soundbite in the seqencer window and throw it. it will automatically stop at the next soundbite it hits.
is there such a tool in Pro Tools le (os 9)?
or is there another way to make one soundbite begin exactly where the next ends.
