Recording School, What now?

I just graduated from a recording school and find myself asking, what now? I have learned a lot from my professors and have a good start at becoming an engineer. The only problem that I face is how to market myself, how to get my foot in the door, is it a waste of time to be a runner at a large studio making minimum wage and barely making rent?

Top Audio Engineering School?

hello, my name is Ben Christy and I am 16. I am currently very interested in attending a school with a very successful audio engineering program. I'm sure this topic could be controvercial, but I was just wondering what schools are the top for audio engineering. For example like the "Harvard" of audio engineering?

Thanks
Ben

Old school drum recording techniques

There's been a lot of talk about drum recording lately, and it's been interesting reading about how people go after the modern sound with each drum miced individually and (ideally) popping out of the mix. But how were drums typically miced on the recordings of the 60's - James Brown, Atlantic/Stax, Motown, Beatles, old-school Nashville, 50s Jazz?

Old School Desk - maybe 15 years old

Does anyone know where I can find info on or does anyone have info on the Inkel MX-1600 professional audio mixer with external power supply?

I own this model, bought it off my boss like three years ago - he was a welshman and had brought it to NZ with the ambition of setting up a production studio - never happened.

da/ad convertion: digi oo2r or oldschool hd?

i'm currently building my recording rig. the ability to upgrade in the future is crucial. everything is cool except for one thing: the digital section.

i was contemplating getting the digi 002r thinking that i could use an Apogeeconverter or something of the sort.
aparently the 002's optical i/o only go up to 48khz. so i say to myself "what?"
