I know this is a loaded question. Is there a starting point for settings using Multi Band compression?
Typical Attack and release settings for Low band Mid band high band etc.
I know it varies but, is there a good starting point?

I am using an SP C1, into a VTB-1, into my Q10
When recording my vocals, i seem to peak very easily
I have tried to correct this by turning the gain down on both the pre and the q10
when i do this, my level becomes too low to hear through the headphones. turning my headphones up just brings my track up extremely loud

I have a pentium III 600 mhz processor, 256 Megs of RAM and a Lexicon Core 2. Can anyone help me with buffer settings and the like. I have no idea what this stuff is, or what it should be set at.

I use Cubase SX and I have a 15 band 2/3 octave, 12db boost or cut EQ plugin which I would like to set up to imitate a hi fi setup for Classical, Rock, Pop, and Dance, so that I can get a little idea what my music will sound like on average, with different hifi setups. I just upgraded from WL 3.0 to 4.0. It states that I should raise my graphics from 16 bit to 24 bit. However, my computer seems to only support 16 bit or 32 bit...Where's 24 bit? Do I really need it? Or will it just slow down my PC?
