What goes first in the signal chain EQ or Compression?
I am sure that compression should be applied before EQ but I am not completely positive about it. This is my set up:
Microphone to MH3 chanel, ACP-88 to insert and then series to an EQ station, the EQ staion is after the compressor.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks.
Voicemaster pro signal path and settings Q.?
Hi,
I am using the VMP in a live situation on my gigs. You can set it up with the compressor being pre or post EQ and the Vintage harmonics being pre or post compressor. It gets a bit confusing as to what the best signal chain would be for best results. Would it be best to have the
COMP-VC-EQ. or
VC-COMP-EQ or
VC-EQ-COMP.?

guitar signal splitter
I have been experimenting with recording jazz guitar (7 string archtop) for a while and was thinking a good approach would be to record the direct signal from the pickup along with mic'd up guitar/amp and to mix the various signals together. What is the best way to split the signal from my guitar into two outputs without losing any quality, adding noise, etc.?

Good compressor/limiter plugin with Input Gain? Signal Chain
I am looking for a good Compressor/Limiter plug In for mastering.
One kind of like Sony's Wavehammer with these options.
Options:
Has an Input Gain fader(Wavehammer does not)
Allows Peak and RMS Compression
Ratios up to 50:1 or higher if possible.
Offers a Limiter to limit the Output
Monitor Signal Quality Question
I've got a Digi 002r interface and today I bought a PreSonus HP4 headphone amp. I had been using the monitor outs with balanced 1/4 inch cables into the back of the monitors. I set up the HP4 today using the main L and R outputs into the HP4, then the HP4's L and R outputs into the monitors using good quality mogami balanced cables.

signal lose through cord length
We are running a splitter on stage w/2 snakes, w/one (75') to the "live" mix and the 2nd one (100') back to the control room. We would like to know if we could run 1 snake form the stage and put the splitter by the soundperson; then run the 2nd snake to the control room. In other words...
