I want to check the actually BPM's of some songs and some songs are over 1000+ BPM but I want to know some sounds and songs are so fast, but I really want to know the actually speed of the songs. Some of you might think doesn't really matter why i want to know or why I might want to listen to such fast music, but I want to know is there any software(s) to do this?

I am looking for a software that allows you to trigger sound cues for a live theater type production by assigning audio clips to keys on a laptop; having any of them for immediate playback at the touch of a key.
is there something like that available?

I am currently recording on a Fostex MR-8HD and transferring my (rather large) .wav files to my computer and ACID Music 3.0 (I know it's old!) for mixing, EQing, etc.

A little information about the setup I'm running, then I'll get to my question. :)

Next week i will buy a laptop fully dedicated to recording projects at my house. What this post comes down to is i don't know what specs i need in a computer to run a program like Cubase with 32 tracks and multiple midi tracks. besides the laptop what else will i need to buy. This is not anything professional and i dont need top of the line. i dont have the finances to spend outrageous.

I'm looking into 2 different softwares.

Waves gtr 2.0 and Guitar Rig 2.0 by NI.

If anyone can offer some insight into these apps that waould be sweet.

What's your favorite mixing/production software, and why? Which is the "most powerful"? Is there an industry "standard"?

In your opinion what is the best DJ software? Anyone try any DJ software out there for windows XP? I want to try some out, but want to know some advanced really good DJ mixing software you can do live shows, DJ mixes, quick mixes, just about any kind of DJ/live mixes. I would like if the software can work with my exisiting mixer. I have a BehringerVMX300.
