What kinds of software do you use if you record (voice, guitar, sunth) on your computer to make mp3 recordings? There are so many out there, and some are easier to use than others. Looking for something relatively easy to use and not terrible expensive, at least for now.

Okay, where do I start?

I have a large amout of my original material recorded on tape with my ADAT LX-20 and I want to transfer it to hard disk - all 8 tracks. Once I get it on hard disk I want to master it cut a CD.

Been doing some extensive reading on Hal-Bar Harmonic Balancer used as a Mastering tool aid.
Any users out there?
Any comments?

Now I work a lot with Wavelab and UAD, Waves, and Nomad Factory,…

How do the softwareguy`s work on there plugins,,,, or do you all ride the mouse.

I'm looking to buy some sort of package of sampled orchestral osunds, but I really don't have a clue what I'm doing. I understand real instruments much better than software controlled ones. I really just want something that I can use to add some string arrangements to my pop/rock music. Really, I'm far more interested in the strings than I am in any of the other instrument families.

Long story short,
I have a Delta 66 PCI card w/OmniStudio IO box.
I used to run this on a Win98 machine with Sonar 2.0.

The hardware is now on a newer desktop with WinXP.
And so I'm thinking of upgrading the multitracking software.
Any recommendations?

I was intrested in getting some drum software. does anyone know what would be best for me. I'm into hard rock/metal. i know theres BFD and drum kit from hell. Any Opinions would be great. thanks
