HELLO EVERYONE!

I'm thinking of buying an analog board to use with my Pro Tools setup.
Which is: -Powerbook 15/1.5/2gig
-002R PT 7
-Behringer ADA8000
-Command 8
-Yamaha MSP5's
-Seagate 160 FW HD

Would it be a better idea to seperate this room and create 2 small rooms or to leave it as one room. Im realizing this is probly the wrong area to post this but for recording drums, guitars in this size room would it be possible to create a good acoustic environment for ambient room mics, or better to just deaden the room? the ceiling are only 7 feet tall. any ideas would be appreciated.

I am in a recording session and we want to use a talk box on the bass for an intro to a song. Does anyone have any ideas for which mic to use? Has anyone tried this and how did it turn out?

I have a Mac G4 with a MOTU 828mkII and a pair of M-Audio BX8 monitors. I'm hearing a faint but steady and repetitive beep (about once per second) from my monitors, and I think I've narrowed down the cause to my two external SATA drives. If I turn either one of the drives off (or both), the beeping stops.

I've been looking to purchase a Firewire mixer/input device for use with my computer, but it's unclear to me whether or not these devices do true simultaneous multitracking in your DAW.

Our band is going to be recording a CD at home. I have a Tascam US-122 audio interface on a Windows system. We just bought a set of drum mics, and I have a few questions.

Things seem to be going fine for me as far as recording vocals and instruments... but I was thinking about recording drums today. How do I go about recording drums...

just wanted to find out what you guys and gals tend to compress before it hits tape (or a bunch of 1's and 0's )

i usually leave all compression for the mix...

I am looking for a set of headphones. I need to use them for tracking - recording singing while listening to the playback over the phones. They need to have no leakage (as far as that's possible), but not at the expense of squeezing my brains out in the middle. Preferably lightweight, from materials that do not induce sweating. I may be having longer sessions than I would like to think.
