mixing instruments and vocals seperately

hey guys what are your thoughts on having the person mix the music different to the person mixing the vocals.

i have listened to my music so much that it has lost all meaning although i know exactly how i want my vocals to sound.

Anyone Have comments on Sterling Audio ST 79 Mics for Vocals

As title says I am looking for comments on using my Sterling Audio Condenser Mic ST 79 for vocals. So far I have not gotten good results...Anyone have any input on this. Acoustic Guitars it does well for me. .But Vocals another matter. What would anyone like to suggest . .my budget is less around 500 Dollars. .I paid over that for this Sterling Audio so price did not help me out.

Can this thing be corrected in Vocals?

I know a lot of singers owe their success to compressors, and limiters etc

I sing in a way that every word I sing appears to be coming 'suddenly', suddenly rise, forceful

When we naturally sing softly, the attack on every word is lets say natural.

I am facing a problem and am wondering if it can be solved by dynamics processing or something else
