What's your current "A" channel for vocals?
Of course, the best thing to do is to fit the individual components to the individual vocalist, but there are a lot of us who have a favorite combination that's the first try for vocals. What's yours? Mic, pre, any outboard units or plugins. This isn't about what you dream about, but what you actually use.

Recording Software-Vocals
I have a professional grade recording mic, and have tried to use Adobe Audition software. The truth of the matter is I'm just not versed in mixing enough to figure out complex software like that.

what will mixing my song do to my vocals and overall song?
Working on a rap album...I recorded my vocals the other day and everything sounds pretty good. My engineer suggests I get the song mixed and mastered.
microphones to record vocals and Acoustic guitars
Hello everbody again. In the process of building my home studio, I'm into buying a good mic. I was into the AKG C 4000 B which cost 420 Euros. I run into the Neumann TLM 102, which cost 590 Euros, with the spider elastic suspension in the case just like the AKG.
Singing Vocals and Instruments
Hi all I am new to both the sound industry and to sound effects. The people I work with are more experienced and have given me some recommendations, but wanted to get some advice from this board as well.
I am planning on recording a song. First we'll be recording all the instruments, and then we'll be recording the sung vocals.

Hey I'm recording my vocals over instrumentals that were imported in such a way that the whole beat is on 1 track (so its a lot harder to manipulate)
Help with mixing vocals
Ok, so I recorded a song for my band, but the vocals, in my opinion, don't fit in very well with the rest of the mix.. I don't know its hard to explain, but here, listen to the song and please let me know what I need to improve on. Thanks!

Sounds like speaker turned on full volume when recording vocals?EXAMPLE INC
I record using Sony sound forge on my laptop. At the moment I'm using a Behringer ultravoice mic pluged into the input of my ultragain pro then the output is going straight into my laptop mic in.
Im pretty sure that is wrong and the mic should be the output but i dont seem to have any way of doing that with the leads i have.
Mixing Backing Vocals
Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to find out how to make backing vox sound as if they were sorrounding me. I hear it in a lot of hip hop tracks and i would like to do the same to pop, r&b and gospel songs. My question is how can i make the backing vox seem as if the are coming literally out of the speakers and sitting in front of my face. Like as if the sound was in 3D.
