Which compressor would you prefer for tracking VOCALS to a DAW? If none of the above, what would be your first choice?

Anyone have any starting point tips for rap vocals (mics, placement, signal chain, techniques, etc...).

Trackin' a guy next week. We'll probably experiment a little with a few pre's, comps, & mics, but if anyone has any good ideas or suggestions. let em fly.

Any comments, good or bad, abouth the Mindprint En-Voice chanel strip?
Is Mindprint gear in general OK?

Mostly doing synth & sample based stuff in PT/Logic/BiasPeak in my B/W G3- i'm asked to record a female friend giving relaxation exercises (in a sort of living room, at low volume).
I think i use my reliable HHB Pro portable dat recorder ( I leave my vintage but still good Revox G36 (736) all valves 1/4 inch recorder at home -i guess).

Anyone with experience recording or mixing music like this, I'd love your input. My question regards background vocals in super produced acts like Destiny's Child etc.
