Not sure how to classify this song. Has a dark ambient feel before turning hard rock. How is the mix sounding so far guys?

You know what I'm hearing? It sounds like you're not mixing ever
You know what I'm hearing? It sounds like you're not mixing everything together at once? It sounds like you're mixing sections separately? And then trying to glom them altogether? Mixing from stems? Nothing is glued together. You have to push everything up together and mix it, all at the same time. Not tweaking everything beforehand.
Set your EQ to zero. Turn off all processing. Pretend all you have is a microphone mixer, all by itself. Balancing everything first. Then ya start to tweak your EQ. Then you add your dynamics processing. Not in reverse order. You're mixing a performance not individual musicians. You are overthinking everything. You don't need to do that. It's not about the knobs and dials and plug-ins. It's about the Performance Value. And not what makes each instrument sound great in solo. It's about how to bring everything together. The sum is greater than the parts.

Can you tell us what your gain chain is, which mics you used, along with any particular EQ or gain reduction settings?
