I'm working on this song for my band, and we got all of the tracking done for everything. I'm in the process of mixing it, but it really isn't turning out to my expectations. We recorded in an amazing room with pretty good gear, and now I'm stuck on the final part: mixing.

Heres the download link for the wma of the file:

I was hoping I could get some expert advice about mixing this. My main concern are the guitars (they sound very fuzzy b/c the guitarist uses LOTS of gain and I want to try and take care of that), the singing vocals, and the reverb.

Thanks a ton

EDIT: yes I know about the pitch errors, but that is because I don't know how to use anteres autotune and It made all the pitches go off. I was hoping I could get some advice on that, mostly just for changing very minor pitch errors in specific parts of the singing.

The guitars are supposed to be fuzzy. Chainsaw like fuzzy. Ripping your veins & arteries from your hearing apparatus, with some time delays thrown in for bad measure.

You spent all that money on ANTERES Auto Tune & didn't read the manual? Oh? You're usin' the free version designed especially for death metal. I should have known. So should you. Using stolen software just makes your stuff sound like...death metal. So, it's of little interest to any living engineers.

Try purchasing software. It works better.

demo version?? lol :P

I was reading some articles about ppl saying not to use compression, but use saturation instead. I've been using pspvintagewarmer, but I also have the psp mix pack which includes psp mix saturation (or something like that name). Should I replace the compression with saturation? or maybe just add saturation with the compression?

In that case, I'd say compression followed by saturation. You don't want to compress the distortion of saturation. But you do want saturation to provide the limiting that your compression, misses. That's the way it wuz done in analog. And you are trying to cop that feel ain't ya?

Oh to be young again....
