Hello!

I'll consider investment in a multi-channel compressor/gate system. What comes to mind is the PreSonus ACP88 : http://www.PreSonus.com/acp88.html

Since I have no pressing hurry for the same, I'll hold on if there are better products that will be worth investing in. Im looking at both Studio and Live use.

Cheers!

Sidhu,

I work with about 150 live bands a year, and probably 50 of em' have a FOH engineer. More than half of them are using the ACP88.

Of the engineers that do use the ACP88, every one of them indicate that they use it in their studios.

Personally, I think it's a fine little unit. It's definitely a lot of bang for the buck.

From the FWIW dept,

It really is hard to beat the ACP88, given its price/size/service record. I can think of nothing in that price range that is that functional and tough for live sound and the studio. I see them all the time in racks that touring Christian music acts bring to my church (we have one, too, patched to the bus inserts on a Midas H3000). Some look like they have been through Hell and back, but still perform quite well. You would have to spend a great deal more $ on product AND rack space to get better performance. Something like a Drawmer or a lunchbox of API or Aphex gear is nice, but much more dough...
