Thought Id post another song just finished .
Ive cut right back on plugins and filtered more on the verb sends .
What do you think?
I also changed my work flow with reverb . Its not as noticeable now.
Going for a more natural vibe
The toms are bit overdone with verb but i like it .

Wow, great song & great recording !!
Honestly, I woudn't change anything.. But if you want a very picky comment, the verb on the piano doesn't fit very well with the rest of the ambiance and the piano itself could be warmer (and a bit less HF) that way it would sonicly ressemble of the guitar and give a better stereo image.. But as I say this is picky, more splitting hair ;)

Great job man.. can't remember you presenting something better than this !!

Thanks Marco , I m pleased you like the song, and more so the recording .:)
The piano , I just can't seem to find yet . I tried boosting the very top heavily
but it was over the top . Because it was played on my roland rd 70 and the
piano samples ( I guess being old ) are very tinny in the higher register .
I wanted to hear more air to make it sound more genuinish .
Next time i will hook up the midi cable and look for other voices .

I have the mcdsp ae 600 which may help me .I will take some HF off , also Im thinking of trying to trigger the lower
freqs to expand when being played up high .( maybe counter the tinny sound ).
I also have the satin tape emu I could try .

Got any ideas you could share to help here ?

As I said it's not a big issue. I'm sure the sound isn't so bad when soloed.
The only reason I mentioned it is that the difference of frequencies between the left and right channel is a bit wide. This isn't a problem by itself but I always find it gives a weird stereo image. So my idea is that if the piano could be a bit more mellow like the electric guitar, it would equal the oposit sides

Thanks for the feedback Luke , I actually mucked around with the mix and killed it and Im experimenting
trying to bring it back to life . Ill post when i bounce it next time to see your reactions .. I think the instruments are popping out
a little better but the girth of the mix is gone . I want to try and beat the last mix by getting under control a little more first.
Its the bringing it back to life which is hard because Im experimenting along the way .
