I ordered a Apogee Rosetta AD. It has an S/PDIF output option. Currently I have an M-Audio Delta 66 card in my DAW. It has an S/PDIF input. Can I use that input without worry that the consumer level card will destroy the pro level conversion the Rosetta is doing? Or would I need to upgrade to something like a Lynx AES 16 type card? I was under the assumption that if I use S/PDIF, there would not be any degradation of the conversion done by the Rosetta AD. What are your opinions.

Well since the signal has already been converted to digital, all the Delta will be doing is passing along the digital information. So in theory the Delta should not harm the signal. Just make sure you are using a true 70 ohm spdif cable. Also make sure the Delta is clocked to the Rosetta, if not you might get some pops.
