Does anyone know how to get monitors that are hooked up through Pro Tools to play music from CD's or itunes from my computer. right now I use the cheap little speakers that came with the computer. I just thought this might be a lot better. I have a pc with windows XP.

Well it is possible but I have a mac so how I did it may be different than how you have to. Well crap now that I think about it, it was my little brother that set that up for me. I know I have to have pro tools shut down to hear anything thru itunes and he basically set up the digi as the soundcard for itunes or whatever. Damn I know this isn't any help so go over to duc.digidesign.com, thats a pro tools forum and they always have the answers to stuff like that. In fact when you get there just do a search for it.

Read better, pro tools CANNOT be running in order for sound to work for itunes and others. Repeat, CANNOT. I'm sure you probably just had a typo but I want to make sure the orininal poster isn't confused.

speaking of reading better:

with a pc with xp, you use the digi asio driver you can download it from the digidesign.com website. i think it comes standard on PT6.7+

then you use the digimme thing to choose what programs work with it.

again: protools CAN NOT be running and not all programs work.

good luck.
