Because quite a few of us have these devices, I thought I would post that RME has released the latest driver just this month.

Jack:
I'm running my FF800 with WinXP 32bit SP3 and Cubase 4.5.2
I just checked my driver and firmware versions
2.91 driver
2.71 firmware
Do you think I should update to these new ones?
I just don't want to upset the apple cart if ya know what I mean!

I wish I could take my head right now and upgrade it's firmware and drivers!
For that matter it would be really cool if I could just take my head and upgrade the entire CPU, RAM, graphics card and cooling tower.
My current rig has a headache! LOL

I completely understand inre the head drive. I'm playing in a chamber music recital this afternoon and recording and being stage manager..........and haven't decided which horn to use. Someone needs to give me a dope slap. I'm sure Cucco doesn't let this happen to him :-(

The 2.91 drivers are pretty darn good. If it were most companies other than RME I'd say leave it alone but RME is so good at writing ever more stable versions I'd just go ahead at your convenience. RME also makes the firmware upgrade real darn painless too.

I did have a minor coronary in January. I had updated the drivers on all my usual remote location computers and on the house FF800 but of course when I went to the gig I took the Studio Flyer rack with the other FF800. I got to the gig a little later than I should have (ain't it wonderful having kids) and couldn't get the FF to work. Fortunately the dip switch in the dip triggered and I remember about the updating I'd done. As it turns out the driver I was using wouldn't work with the older firmware. Oiy! Running the file and 30 seconds later and I was good to go again. What other device would you dare upgrade and feel secure enough to use it immediately?!?

I agree 100% RME is tops with this dirver stuff....I think every outfit wishes they could write stable drivers like RME.
It looks like I'm a few versions back...(I went to the RME site and looked at the driver readme files)....so I will update them while I'm watching the US/CAN hockey game eh!
I don't know who I want to win.....either one I will be happy!
Should be an outstanding game!....SCORE!
Enjoy your recital and don't forget to have some fun!
Thanks,
