Hello guys,
I was sure I had posted this topic few days ago but I cannot find it anymore so I'll try again.
I have this idea of buying a new daw that I would use for writing only (I am going to keep using PT for recording and editing).
It would be pc based running either Cubase sx or Nuendo because I think they are more friendly for writing and there are more VST instruments and synths available, in fact, for how I see it, this system should function as a big sound module.
I was also thinking of implementing it with a dsp card such as the TC powercore or UAD.

My concerns are latency and reliability as this would be used by clients as well as myself and any input on this matter, on how to build the best system for a task like this, would be really appreciated.

Cheers

I purchased the TC Powercore Firewire for my mac Digital Performer 4 set up... I am running a 733 mhz with 1gig ram. and while i cant speak for the stability on the pc... the mac set up was unstable at first.
but once i finally got it working... latency & reliability was not an issue.
However, I really was not happy with the sounds that it gave me. Its okay, but I am not totally blown away by it.
