I am new this whole thing and I am in the process of setting up my home recording studio right now. The only thing I need now is a good DAW software... I have looked into two so far: MixCraft 4.2 and REAPER... In my opinion, REAPER sounds like more "bang for the buck" but I am just wondering; what would anybody recommend? Weather it be MixCraft, REAPER, or another.

Thanks!

From other folks posts, if you want a full featured DAW I would skip MixCraft. Reaper is a very monetary conscious way to start and many folks like it. Other options are things such as Mackie Tracktion which can be found NIB on eBait for $99-150 regularly. There are many other full featured and capable DAWs but these two are good and nice introductions though the user interface (UI) is vastly different between them.
