Im really new to recording and I have the instrumentation figured out okay but vocals just sound terrible the sound dry and stuff does anyone have any tips

the equiptment where using is a Tascam dp-02 cf fostex monitors and mxl 990 condesing microphone

anything will be helpful from placement to more equiptment

also the stuff were trying to play is pretty heavy vocally
weve been working on stuff like something i can never have by nine inch nails with singing that borders on screaming
