Fletcher-Munson curves
The Fletcher-Munson curves are one of many sets of equal-loudness contours for the human ear, determined experimentally by Harvey Fletcher and Wilden A. Munson, and reported in a 1933 paper entitled "Loudness, its definition, measurement and calculation" in the Journal of the Acoustic Society of America.

Isolating from external sound; windows; and should I visit Rod Gervais?
I'd like to make a spare room in my house suitable for recording spoken dialogue.
The three problems I see are:
- separating recording equipment/activity from performance
- the room is basically square (23'x23')
- there is a huge sawmill near my house.
Audio interfaces decisions decisions could use some direction
Okay .. the readers digest version is I'm building a mini B studio ( studio A got moved to another location).
This started as a hobby for me way back in 1988 ( boy have we come along way). It's still a hobby now and will be my retirement hobby after my girls finish university ( if there's any money left LOL)
Anyhow, I'm struggling with the interface decisions ...

Balancing & Panning FX returns
Hello All,
I am starting to mix a new track i recorded and want some advice on how to mix and handle FX returns and routing.
I was wondering how to pan FX returns like reverb & delay. I read somewhere that in case of reverb, the wet signal should be panned to the same position as the dry signal. Is this true?
