Electrix Repeater (digital loop/phrase sampler)
Has anybody tried one of these things?
I'm non-DAW (I use a DA7/Mx2424 set up),
and could occasionally use something like this...
I have a sampling K2000, which could probably work,
but it isn't really something I grab when I need
to quickly manipulate a sample...
TIA,
Bob Phillips

Help choosing Hard Drives.. ata133 or 8mb buffer?
I just got the asus p4b533 with the built-in promise raid 133. I am going to run two hard drives for audio on the raid.
should i go for the maxtor 80 gigs which run at ata133, or the western digital 80 gig which only runs at ata100, but has the 8mb buffer?
Would the bigger buffer give me more performance? or the true ata133 speed of the maxtor?

absorbing low freq - cuts boom outside room also?
 I have just recently built a project studio in a 2000 sqr/ft lot. The partition wall between my studio and the shop next (I am in a strip mall ) was said to be 14" wide - staggererd studs 5/8 drywall with insulation. To achieve an STC of 55 we built on accordingly. As it turns out the wall between me and the next door is roughly 8" - not on staggered studs but with insulation.
Tip stolen from Val Garay by yours truelly
Here's a great (I'n my humble opinion) tip I stole from Val Garay.
Val by the way is a great (one of the greats) engineer...and a world class asshole (that's why I don't care about "stealling" this tip).
This is for basic tracks and beyond, and it invloves the monitor ballance. It goes like this:
