OK, I just (using Toast 3.5.6) burned another Demo disk (from masters created in PTLE) just as I always do but, this time something strange happened. I usually take a listen to the new CD by playing it on the internal CD Rom drive of my G4/400 using the Apple CD Audio Player app.

What do you think will be the timeframe when all studios will be expected to be surround sound capable? Or, in your opinion do you believe it will be a speciality request by the major label projects only (or just some major label projects)?

anyone remember this stuff :) anyway, I know of someone who has a ton of
Ampex 765 (i think its 765-anyway its close) this is 1" data tape on 12"
reels and it all looks in pretty good shape. Anyway the question is can I
use this tape on my 1" machine for recording music. Will I experience
problems with it? will is cause excessive head wear?

I am building custom monitor stands and wonder which part of the monitor to place at ear level...woofer, tweeter or in-between? I have seen monitor heights on Omnirax Furniture ranging from 34" to 45". The monitors will be placed vertically on the stands. I have the Behringer B2031's.

Is there a lot of loss in quality when recording to tape and someone keeps messing up so you have to record over and over? How much is too much, and the tape starts sounding bad?

anyone use this mic? i read a review in Tape-Op that makes it seem like quite an interesting bargain...

When i'm in play mode and hit the fast forward key my scsi drve freaks out and the audio skips for about 5 sec. then kicks back in. Any solutions?
