I just bought a G4 Powerbook so I'm wondering.. Is there a better way to get quality mixdowns from my Powerbook than just going 1/8" headphone out to RCA left and right on my standalone Philips CD burner?

I'm building a small home studio (real simple, a condenssor mic, one channel mixer, booth and computer) but i dont know very much about mixing and mastering...

hi guys, please is anyone of you using the newer standalone firewire / usb 2.0 combo connex drives plextor 716 UF (tray loading) or the 716 UFL (slot loading) drives with Toast 7 / Jam 6 under OSX panther 10.3.9... i am confused, because i wanted to buy one and the guy (a friend of mine who is an IT for HP) told me that those models are not working under OSX...

So i used Sequoia Samplitude to record, mix, and master. I am never happy with my mixes when i bring them down under 0. But i burned a CD that was well into +6dB and i didn't hear any problem on my consumer CD player. what is the reason for mixing under 0 and how can i get better sound out of my mixes without paying tons for mastering?

The new Waveburner 1.2 update for OS X has arrived... build #103.

Comes with the Logic 7.2 upgrade package only, IIRC.

It's up and running on OS X 10.4.5 on our G5.

They've added "Write As Session" for enhanced CD-R masters.

Seems to be working very well. 8-)

I am just starting to look in to mastering...what is the best literature to assist me in the process?
