How do i mastering my Songs or Album to the Quality or the Volume Level as Commercial Volume Level?

I'm using Soundtrack Pro...is it posible to do that on this software?

After Mixing,is it the Volume Output to the Higherst Level before Mastering step i take?

I know this is hardly the most exciting topic, but does anyone here have any suggestions on mastering the spoken word to meet broadcast quality. There are three speakers, each using a different mic, and each erratically speaking quietly and loudly (with a few mic pops) throughout the hour. Any help would certainly be appreciated. Thanks.

Is this a good peice of software to go with my PTLE? Will it convert my wav files in to mp3's nicely? How bout CD architect? any feed back on these would be wonderful. looking for something to polish my mixes.

Hello, This is my first post here.

I've just been asked to master a live recording for a hardcore/punk band (vinyl 7" and CD release.) Problem is this is my FIRST attempt at mastering anything. I am on a Pro-tools LE set up and the Wav. file is just a stereo track thats about 13 minutes long.

I am beginning to approach mastering my recordings, and am not quite sure where to begin. I know this involves equalization, spacing and so on, as well as removing hiss, etc, but I am sure that there are those out there who have actually mastered their digital tracks, and thus have more experience than I.

Hi there, I was just wondering if there is anyone on here with much experience in mastering for electronica - specifically the dancefloor varietys like House, Drum and Bass and Techno.

I was just fooling around with some audio files and came across something weird. On Deftones White Pony, pretty much every song stays peaking at 0.0; but for some reason, Change(In the House of Flies) peaks at about -1.5 for the entire song except a couple stray hits at the end. This was their single on the radio too.

I've got a bit of a dilemma. We're recording our second album right now, and we're in the process of mixing and also search for a mastering enginner.It's hip hop stuff. We've decided to mix the album ourselves since we are indie and our budget is really tight at this point.
