ok hi guys!

I know a little about mastering, based on what i've read in here and in the mastering engineer handbook.

for my final mixes, should i run eq/compression/limiting on the master bus? (protools)

allright to in pro tools le when i want to bounce to aiff, what do i do to get the correct volume on output. i have my sessions master fader almost clipping. but then the outcome is super quite. i know for fact u dont NEED to hire a damn mastering person to do such. so what, do i bounce, make a new session and then volume it up t here? what do i do?

I have a new batch of about 20 songs I just finished working on and when I put them on a CD, they are low in volume. The last CD I did was much louder in volume. Basically, they are all pushed as much I can push them without clipping. How can I get these tracks to have more volume?

hi ya sorry if this has been covered before i need some advice about vinyl mastering or pre vinyl mastering.

in order to get a decent sounding vinyl master is there anything that i need to do in my pre master before it gets sent to the cutters. or should the client just take his mixed version to the cutters and let them deal with it.

I know someone out there has already asked this question before,,,,,but here it goes again :D .
Im looking for any publications,dvd,s---vhs----books---etc. on the ART OF MASTERING.

Hi guys,

When I burn a CD it won't play on my 1 year old Panasonic car stereo, or my 10 year old boom box. Not a big deal but if I give someone a disc and they can't listen to it I look like a dork.

Would this likely be the burner(came with a new dell 4700) the software(Sonic-Record Now 7.3) or the ultra cheap RW-CD's I bought("natural"-multi speed 48x)

Any thoughts?

Hi, i just wanted to know what is it about or what it does, and how to use it, i tried opening this plugin in wavelab but i had to open another cos the sound turned left, and then it came back to center, but i don't understand what is it for.

Sorry about my ignorance but i need lamest terms to understand, and then a good explanation.

hey guys I'm new here and also new to the whole thing of mastering. I'm an up coming producer and i made a couple of tracks and i want to know how can i master may tracks so that they sound like any other commercial CD on the market. and i use sound forge. walk me through the process. thanx in advance

I have not posted here for a while. Last time was a lot of months ago, during the exiting group mastering project with the 12 minutes
long rock tune. :? That was big fun, but it also took a lot of my energy. But very educational, for me as a mastering novice.
