Earthworks and Double Micing
Two quick questions:
1. I've read a lot about double Micing guitar cabs...specifically, I've heard a lot about close Micing with a Shure 57 and Micing about six feet away with another mic.
My question is: do you use a Shure and another mic, and if so, what other mic do you use? Are there better alternatives to the 57?

Which mic for cabs?
Looking for a higher end mic to record guitar cabs/amps.
Ive used sm57/58,ksm44.
Im looking at only using 1 mic {up-frt} to get the job done, the preamp Im using is a Sebatron 2000e.

SE Electronics mics
Somebody tried any of these mics? How do they sound? Are they worth considering or are they the same old budget mics from china?

Is it really nessesary to use more than one mic when recording youre amps cab?---or do use just need 1 "good" mic?
Ive tried the x-y patterns. dynamic up frt, with condensers at the back. .tried different rooms...small,large,insulated etc.

Problem solving - microphone selection or placement
As I posted in a different post in this section I am doing a radio show and the star of that show is a 1928 Wurlitzer Pipe organ. The organ console sits in a hall and all the pipes are located in the basement. The sound arrives at the hall though grates in the floor of the hall (2.5 feet wide and about 20 feet long) .
