looking for a starter mic for new system using a FirePod. I need one for vocals and another for Micing amps. Any suggestions? I figured just go with a SURE SM58 to start for the vocals..

hey all i just finished college doing music technology and i am going to continue it when i go to university in september but i want to do some studio work at home and i have also got to do a few favours for my friend (recording vocals etc.)

Hi all. I know these questions are a regular thing but I'm wanting a second mic for an alternate colour on vocals.

I have a RODE NT1000 and love it (on my voice). But it doesn't sound so great on some other peoples vocals.

In the same price range (£130 - £180) what others do you like? Mainly for a barratone singer.

I'm searching for a cheap (somewhere around 50-150 Euro) dynamic mic that I can use for female vocals (not thin ones, at that) for rehearsals. But I would also like to use it as a second mic in my project studio (the first one seems to be the AT3035).

I've just come into some money to upgrade my little home setup and I'm stuck as far as what to upgrade in order to achieve the best bang for the buck. Currently, I have:

PC (2.6Ghz P4, 2Gig memory, XP, 2 120 gig hard drives)
BLUE Baby Bottle Mic
Aardvark Q10
Cubase SX3
Sucky monitors (home theater stuff-Yamaha)

i have to buy a good condensator mic for my home studio in order to record voice and acoustic guitar primaly...
i thought about:

is there anybody who can help me to choose the right mic?
someone could also suggest me some other mics...

I'm looking to spend $300-$600 on a large diaphragm condenser mic and would love some advice. The main use will be for vocals, but of course I want something versatile to use on amps, acoustic guitars etc.

Ok. I know this is a hotly debated topic, so I suppose it deserves a thread of its own.

Does anyone get good results with this approach?
