Another one out for sale. A decent price (half new). Are they useable and then for what?

Hi there, we're having a tough time figuring out what this mic is. I'm dying to find out as it sounds amazing on guitar cabs. We know its not a capacitor as its running with no phantom power. Also the capsule screws off but it's not a changeble one as its hardwired inside.

I'm planning on buying a new mic to replace my old AKG C3000 (Can you say; harsh?)

I will be using in mainly on vocals (male).
Pre will be a GT Brick.

I would like to have a tube mic as I like vocals to be round and creamy.

This is something I'm just a little curious about.

I use an Apogee Mini-Me for everything. When I use any of my newer mics I never hear any hum. However, with a twenty-five year old AKG C-34, or an eleven year old U87 there is an audible hum unless the Mini-Me is earthed (using an AT4060 pwer supply).

1. How often would you pros out there recommend replacing a mic/instr/interconnect cable. I have some quality cables I soldered up some five years ago now (looks fine, gold plugs etc), are they still good for critical recording?

Guitar Amp:

Bass Amp:

This will cost me around $700, is there anything else better i can get with that money.

Im currently looking for a good quiet pair of cans so i can expieriment with mic placement techniques(around drumsets and Amps).

My price range is preferably between 75-170. But if there is a jewel at 200 dollars ill splurge. I dont intend on spending over 200.

Hey guys, I just joined this forum today and seeing as i'm a begginer i have a begginer question for you. What would be the best mic in the 200 dollar range to match up with an M-Audio Ozone Midi Controller with a built in preamp? Im looking for something that works well with rap and RnB vocals.
